Get ready to dig deep into the past and blast off into the future at this summer’s Knowledge is Power Science Camp, where dinosaurs and hands-on discovery collide for an unforgettable week of learning and fun.
Hosted by the City of Charlestown Parks Department in partnership with science educator Daniel Dietrich, the 2025 Summer Science Camp will run June 9–13 at the Family Activities Park, located at 1000 Park Street. This year’s theme, “The Dinosaurs of Science – Jurassic Camp,” invites young explorers to unleash their curiosity through exciting, hands-on experiments inspired by prehistoric times.
Campers, grades K-5, will take part in a full-day program packed with activities designed to entertain and educate. Highlights include: Make your own fossil; plastic slinky bubble, 2-liter propeller boat, fizzing dinosaur eggs, DIY fossils with toothpaste and eggs, egg drop experiment, and more.
Each project is designed to spark imagination while teaching scientific principles in a creative, hands-on way. From erupting dino eggs to boat building, kids will leave camp with not only memories, but their own take-home science experiments
.Each camper will also receive a camp T-shirt, snacks, participate in games, and take home multiple science projects to continue the learning at home.
The camp fee is $150 per participant. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
