Members of Tri-Township Fire & Rescue recently partnered with the Sellersburg Police Department to enhance emergency response efforts by donating critical lifesaving medical equipment. The donation includes automatic external defibrillators (AEDs), bag valve masks, tourniquets, and Narcan — tools that can make a vital difference in the first moments of an emergency. Officials say equipping police officers with this gear allows care to begin immediately, often before fire or EMS units arrive on scene.

In high-risk situations such as cardiac arrest, traumatic injuries, or opioid overdoses, those first few minutes are crucial. Having the proper equipment readily available enables first responders to act quickly, improving patient outcomes and strengthening what emergency professionals call the “chain of survival.”

Leaders from both agencies emphasized that the partnership will improve coordination and efficiency between departments. From the moment first responders arrive to when a patient reaches the hospital, the goal is to provide seamless, consistent care.

Tri-Township Fire & Rescue officials said they are proud to work alongside the Sellersburg Police Department and remain committed to protecting and serving the community through teamwork and collaboration.
