Ingredients:
• 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
• 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed and chilled
• ¾ cup all-purpose flour
• ½ teaspoon salt
• 2 tablespoons cold water
• Optional: ¼ teaspoon paprika or cayenne for a kick
Instructions:
1. Mix the dough
In a food processor or bowl, combine cheese, flour, salt, and butter. Pulse or blend until the mixture is crumbly.
Add cold water one tablespoon at a time just until the dough comes together.
2. Chill
Form dough into a disc, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
3. Roll and cut
Roll out dough on a floured surface to about â…› inch thick. Use a knife or pizza cutter to cut into 1-inch squares.
Use a skewer or toothpick to poke a small hole in the center of each cracker.
4. Bake
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
Place crackers about ½ inch apart.
Bake for 12–15 minutes until puffed and golden at the edges.
5. Cool and enjoy
Let cool completely on a wire rack to crisp up fully.
Tips:
• For extra crunch, bake a minute or two longer—just don’t burn!
• Try white cheddar, smoked gouda, or pepper jack for variety.
