Lisa’s Little Dream Farm Sanctuary, in Hardinsburg, a haven for animals in need, is reaching out to the community for help to keep its mission alive.

The sanctuary, founded by owners Lisa and Rob Young who themselves suffer from PTSD, provides a safe refuge for animals of all kinds, like horses, cows, donkeys, goats, cats, and dogs. Their mission goes beyond animal care — they envision the farm as a place of healing not only for their “fur babies” but also for soldiers, first responders, children and adults with autism, and survivors of abuse.

Caring for the animals comes with significant challenges. Feed costs, veterinary bills, property upkeep, and garden maintenance are stretching the sanctuary’s resources to the limit. The Youngs are also seeking help with essential projects, such as installing faucets on water tanks to improve animal care.

“We just want this place to help animals, and to help people who are hurting, like we are,” they shared. “We want the sanctuary to live on forever, even after we’re gone.”

The sanctuary is urgently asking for volunteers of all ages — including Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, teenagers, and adults — to lend a hand. Whether helping mow the grounds, assisting with animal care, or tackling small repair projects, every effort counts.

In addition, Lisa’s Little Dream Farm Sanctuary is looking for monthly sponsors to help catch up on feed and veterinary bills. Even a $10 monthly contribution would make a difference. Supporters will soon see pictures of each animal posted on Facebook as the sanctuary prays for sponsors willing to help.

The farm also welcomes the public to host birthday parties and other events on-site, and encourages visitors to come for tours to learn more about their work (by appointment only).

To ensure transparency, the sanctuary is working with an accountant so donors can feel confident that every dollar goes directly to the animals and the mission of healing.

For those interested in volunteering, booking an event, or becoming a monthly sponsor, please visit Lisa’s Little Dream Farm Sanctuary’s Facebook page for more information.

“We are here to help, and we hope others will help us too,” Lisa said.
