A simple brisket rub with a little sweet, a little heat and a little smokey flavor is all you need to knock your brisket out of the park.

You can make your brisket anyway you want, and it comes out flavorful and delicious. This recipe is for a slow-cooked brisket.

This recipe makes enough rub for a 12-to-14-pound brisket.

Ingredients:

¼ cup packed brown sugar

2 Tablespoon kosher salt (more or less as desired)

2 Tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon cayenne (more or less as desired)

1 Tablespoon freshly ground black pepper

2 teaspoons paprika

1 Tablespoon cumin

2 teaspoons dried oregano

2 teaspoons garlic powder

Combine in a small bowl. Rub desired amount on both sides of brisket. Put the brisket in a slow cooker on medium for 6 hours or until meat thermometer reaches 165 degrees.
