On April 22, 2025, the Indiana State Police held its annual awards and recognition ceremony in Indianapolis to publicly recognize the achievements, sacrifices, and dedication of its employees from across the state. The awards were all presented in person by Indiana State Police Superintendent Anthony Scott.

Sellersburg’s Trooper Brandon Love was the recipient of not one, but three awards this year, the 2024 District DUI Award, DUI Life Award, and Trooper of the District Award.

The District DUI Award is presented to the trooper with the highest number of DUI arrests in each district. In 2024, Trooper Love achieved 101 DUI arrests. The DUI Life Award – Top 5 is given to the top five troopers in the state for DUI arrests. With 101 arrests, Trooper Love ranked second in the state of Indiana. Additionally, due to Trooper Love’s outstanding efforts both on and off the roadway, he was honored with the 2024 Sellersburg Trooper of the District Award. This award is presented annually to one trooper in each district who exemplifies professionalism, integrity, a well-rounded work ethic, and community involvement, as determined by the district commander. Criteria for the award include enforcement activity, arrests, case and crash investigations, public information programs, and community service.

Trooper Love and his wife reside in Sellersburg in Clark County.
