The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced upcoming changes to speed limits along State Road 60 in Campbellsburg in an effort to improve roadway safety.

According to INDOT, the current 55 mph speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph between just west of South Bilyeu Road and just east of North Hickory Street. In addition, the existing 45 mph zone will be reduced to 35 mph between just east of North Hickory Street and just east of North Marshall Road.

Advance warning signs will be installed to alert motorists of the changes before they go into effect.

As part of the safety improvements, INDOT will also implement a no-passing zone on S.R. 60 between West Oak Street and Sycamore Street. Officials said this measure is designed to further reduce speeds and enhance safety through the community.
