SHS arrival and dismissal procedures for this coming school year announced

Salem High School has announced the procedures for the upcoming school year's arrival and dismissal. For the morning arrival, student drivers can access parking spaces via Harrison or Shelby Street and park in their designated spot using a parking permit. Students are to use sidewalks and enter the school through the Main Entrance (Door 1) or the cafeteria entrance (Door 9) Arrival time is 7:45 - 8:15 a.m.

Students being dropped off should use Shelby Street on the west side of the high school and enter through the cafeteria (Door 9). Do not use Harrison Street to drop off students. If arriving later than 8:15, students will need to use the Main Entrance (Door 1) as the cafeteria doors will be locked.

Bus riders will be dropped off at the crosswalk at the Main Entrance. Buses arrive between 7:30 a.m. - 8:05 a.m.

Free breakfast will be served each day from 7:30 a.m. - 7:55 a.m. in the cafeteria. Students arriving before 8 a.m. will sit in the cafeteria until the bell rings. Classes are from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At the end of the day, buses will be parked on Harrison Street for loading. Student drivers will be able to leave via Harrison Street or Shelby Street but expect delays and be patient.

Students may be picked up at the cafeteria door to meet their ride.
