The 5K-9 is held in remembrance of fallen Charlestown k-9 Officer, Sgt. Benton Bertram, who lost his life on December 12, 2018 while serving his community.
The walk/run will take place at 8:30am at Charlestown High School.
This event is dog-friendly. All sizes and breeds are welcome to walk-run the race with their owner.
There will be free Shave Ice for all participants at the end of the race.
The proceeds will benefit the 550 Foundation, which was started in honor of Sgt. Bertram, with a mission to provide free fully trained K-9's, free-training and equipment to law enforcement K-9 Divisions in Indiana.
The second is to the children of the late Deborah Meyer who left behind 3 young children.
The cost is $30.00 for 11+, with $15 for ages 10 and under.
