SCSD1 Hires a Head of Grounds

Scott County School District 1 (SCSD1) hired a Head of Grounds at their recent board meeting. Superintendent Trevor Jones said that maintenance was taking care of the grounds but that takes away from what they do in the buildings. The Head of Grounds will be in charge of mowing and trash (everything that is outside). The position will also take care of the sports fields, and preparing for snow, along with snow removal.

“It'll free up maintenance to be in the buildings where they are needed,” said Jones. This free ups about 32 hours.

Alex Edwards was hired as the Head of Grounds with his role going into effect September 23. The next school board meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 21.
