In his report to the board, Scott County School District 1 (SCSD1) Superintendent Trevor Jones outlined several major facility upgrades planned for the upcoming summer. One of the largest projects will be the full replacement of 804 lockers at the middle/high school, which have significantly deteriorated over time. Bids are currently being collected, and the board will receive a cost update at the next meeting.
Additional improvements include parking lot maintenance across the district. A $30,000 project to reseal and repaint all parking areas at the elementary school is already in motion. The district is also seeking bids to repair cracks at the middle/high school parking lot and plans to address potholes and drainage issues near the tennis courts with rock and fill.
“These are just a few of the bigger projects,” Jones said. “As always, summer will be a busy time for facility updates across the district.”
