The Scottsburg Common Council will hold a public hearing later this month to consider an ordinance that would change the city’s electric connection fees for new customers.
Ordinance No. 2025-8 proposes amendments to the current fees charged to new residential and commercial customers when connecting to the city’s electric service. Officials say the proposed changes are aimed at updating the rates to better reflect current costs.
The hearing is scheduled for Monday, July 14, 2025, at 6 p.m. in the Council Room at Scottsburg City Hall, located at 2 E. McClain Avenue. During the meeting, residents and other interested parties will have an opportunity to voice their opinions before the council takes final action on the measure.
The ordinance is available for public inspection at the Clerk-Treasurer’s office at City Hall during regular business hours.
