The Scottsburg City Council unanimously approved Resolution 2025-R-1, granting a tax abatement to support Genpak's $7 million facility expansion, which will create 49 new jobs and strengthen the local economy.
The phased tax abatement will begin with the 2026 tax year, with taxes due 2027. This timing accounts for the necessary assessment process. Construction is expected to commence in February and be completed by the end of the year.
“This project is a win-win for Scottsburg,” said Mayor Terry Amick. “It creates well-paying jobs, invests in our community, and strengthens our economic foundation. We're proud to support his effort.”
With the resolution passed and plans in motion, an official press release will be issued with further details on the expansion and its anticipated impact.
