Baseball

America’s Favorite Pastime or better known as baseball, is a sport that has over 500 million fans. However, I am sure that there are quite a few people that do not understand the game of baseball. So, I am going to answer some frequently asked questions.

1. What is the infield fly rule? The Infield fly rule is in affect when there are runners on first and second or first, second, and third with less than two outs. This can only happen if the ball pops up in the infield and the fielder can catch it with.

2. How many players make up a team? Each team must have at least nine players to have full team.

3. What are some ways to record an out? There are many two get outs in baseball including: strikeout, fly out, ground out, caught stealing, pick off, and fielders choice.

4. How long is the game? Well, it all depends on what level of baseball you are talking about. In the majors, they play a nine inning game, in high school, they play a seven inning game, and middle school plays six innings with a hour and a half time limit.

5. How many strikes and balls does a batter get? Each batter walks if the pitcher throws him four balls. Each batter strikeouts if the pitcher throws three strikes. Now, keep in mind, that a foul ball is a strike unless the batter already has two strikes.

6. What is a cycle? A cycle is when a batter hits a single, double, triple, and home run in the same game.

Baseball is a sport that I have liked since a very early age. I not only enjoy playing, but I also enjoy watching and umpiring. I hope that this story has helped you in your baseball knowledge. Even if you do not watch it, this can at least help you have a a conversation.
