During its latest meeting, the Scott County Council unanimously approved Ordinance 2024-72, granting an additional appropriation of $75,000 from the restricted Opioid fund to the Community Corrections office to support a critical position focused on pre-trial release efforts, re-entry planning, and connecting participants to opioid disorder and mental health treatment services.
Council members highlighted the program's track record of success in helping individuals transition back into society and emphasized the appropriateness of this expenditure, which was reviewed and approved by legal counsel.
