A North Carolina man convicted of killing a Wisconsin man in Jeffersonville will likely spend the rest of his life in prison.
Christopher Tandy received a 65- year sentence for the July 20221 shooting death of Rodrick Wallace. Wallace's body was discovered on the side of Edgewood Way in the Oak Park subdivision on July 23, 2012. Days later, Tandy was apprehended in North Carolina and
extradited to Indiana to face charges.
In a statement given to Wave 3 News, Clark County Deputy Prosecutor Calvin Blank expressed satisfaction with the outcome. “I'm very pleased with the court's decision
today,” Blank said. “The crime of murder is the most serious under Indiana law, and we were able to prove that the defendant committed this crime.”
The judge handed down the maximum sentence allowed under Indiana law. Tandy was sentenced to 55 year for murder and auto theft, with an additional 10 years for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
