The Scott County School District 2 (SCSD2) board has officially approved Dr. Kyle Neukam to serve as superintendent of the district, beginning July 1, 2025.
Under the agreement, Dr. Neukam will work 260 days per school year and receive an annual base salary of $140,700. The contract includes benefits such as three paid personal days (which may roll over), 10 paid sick days (which may accumulate), and 20 paid vacation days (which may not accumulate). However, up to five unused vacation days per year may be bought back by the school corporation at his daily rate.
Dr. Neukam will have access to the district’s health, vision, and dental insurance plans, as well as a $150,000 term life insurance policy—at a cost of just $1 annually to him. He may also participate in the district’s long-term disability insurance plan, with the board covering all but one dollar of the premium.
Additionally, the board will cover Dr. Neukam’s required contributions to the Indiana State Teachers Retirement Fund and reimburse him for mileage and travel expenses incurred for business purposes. Membership fees and travel costs for participation in professional associations and educational conferences will also be covered, provided they are pre-approved by the board.
The contract allows for annual performance reviews and includes provisions for cancellation or non-renewal in accordance with Indiana law. The board has also agreed to provide legal counsel for Dr. Neukam, with costs covered by the district.
