Lady Hornets Run Rule Warriorettes


For the first time since the 2016-17 season (according to MaxPreps), the Henryville Lady Hornets softball team defeated the Scottsburg Warriorettes.

The game was played at Scottsburg but was dominated by Henryville. The Lady Hornets scored twelve runs in the top of the first and six more in the top of the second to lead the game 18-1 to start the third inning. The Warriorettes scored one more run in the fifth but would still lose the game 20-2 after five innings.

Kyleigh Lienhart was the winning pitcher for the Lady Hornets. She pitched all five innings, allowing one run off of five hits and had eight strikeouts. Kelsey Pinto-Herrara led the way for the Warriorettes with one RBI off of two hits. Lienhart led the way for the Lady Hornets with four RBI off of two hits and one home run . This game left the Lady Hornets 3-2 on the season and the Warriorettes 0-1.


Lady Mustangs Run Rule Warriorettes


On Wednesday, April 16 the New Washington Lady Mustangs hosted the Warriorettes of Scottsburg. The Warriorettes started off strong in the first inning to go up 3-0. The Lady Mustangs reacted with two runs of their own to trail the game 3-2.

The Warriorettes went quiet for a while but the Lady Mustangs made a lot of noise. The Lady Mustangs added eight runs in the bottom of the second, three in the bottom of the third, one in the bottom of the fourth, and two in the bottom of the fifth. The Warriorettes scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning but fell short ending the game with a score of 16-6 after five innings.

Braves Run Rule Mustangs


On Thursday, April 17 the Borden Braves traveled to play a SAC match up against the New Washington Mustangs. The Braves got things going early scoring three runs in the first inning, two in the second, two in the third, and three in the fifth.

The Mustangs had five hits but would have four errors in the game. The Braves won the game 10-0 after five innings.


Pirates Shutout Hornets


On Friday, April 11 the Henryville Hornets traveled to Charlestown to take on the Pirates. The Pirates would basically win the game in the third inning, scoring four runs, then adding two more runs in the fourth inning. The Hornets only had one hit in the game and that would come from Sophomore Jacob Winters.

Zach Helton was the winning pitcher for the Pirates. The junior pitched four innings and only allowed one run off of one hit and had six strikeouts. Cooper Lynch led the way for the Pirates going 2-3 at the plate with one RBI. Zach Helton, Christian Grayson, and Kaleb Bohannon would all have one RBI as well.

Braves Fall to Stars


On Tuesday, April 15 the Borden Braves baseball team played a road game against Bedford North Lawrence. The Braves opened up the game with one run in top of the first inning but then allowed two in the bottom of the inning.

The Braves trailed the game 4-1 to start the third inning. They scored four runs in the top of the third to lead the game 5-4 but then allowed 11 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to lose the game 15-5. The Braves are now 3-2 on the season.


Pirates Run Rule Musketeers


On Monday, the Charlestown baseball team traveled to Pekin to take on the Eastern Musketeers. The Pirates took control early with two runs in the first inning alone. The Pirates would then score three in the second, three in the third, and three in the fourth to win the game 11-0.


Hornets Fall to Panthers


On Saturday, April 12 the Henryville Hornets baseball team hosted the Panthers of Corydon Central. The Panthers won the game 12-6. Jacob Winters led the way for the Hornets as he would go 4-4 from the plate with one RBI.

Lady Dragons Run Rule Lady Cubs


On Friday, April 11 the Silver Creek Lady Dragons traveled down the road to play against the Madison Lady Cubs for a varsity softball contest. The Lady Dragons scored five runs in the second inning and added four more in the fourth inning. They were up 9-0 to start the fifth inning. The Lady Dragons scored two more runs to win the game 11-1 after five innings.

Tessa Gibson was the winning pitcher for the Lady Dragons, allowing one run on one hit with eight strikeouts. She also led the way on offense with four RBI off of two hits and one home run. Lola Hall and Lily Allen each collected two RBI in the game, while Jazzy Calloway and Abby Morris would have one.

Lady Dragons Perfect Record Ruined by Fighting Irish


On Saturday, April 12 the Silver Creek Lady Dragons played against Indianapolis Cathedral on the road.

The Lady Dragons struggled as Bailee Garrett recorded the teams only hit in the game. Tessa Gibson would be the losing pitcher for the Lady Dragons, pitching five innings and giving up six earned runs.

The Lady Dragons lost the game 10-0 after six innings and are now 9-1 on the season.


Lady Dragons Rally Past Lady Owls


On Monday, April 14 the Silver Creek Lady Dragons softball team hosted the Lady Owls of Seymour. The Owls opened up to a 2-0 lead but the Lady Dragons would quickly tie it up. The Lady Owls then took a 4-2 lead, but then the Lady Dragons had a four run inning to lead the game 6-4. The Lady Dragons went on to win the game 8-7.

Lily Philpott was the winning pitcher for the Lady Dragons.


Lady Dragons Fall to Lady Musketeers


On Tuesday, April 15 the Silver Creek Lady Dragons hit the road for a MSC match up against the Lady Musketeers of Eastern (Pekin). The Lady Dragons only manged to score one run and that came in the fourth inning. They allowed two runs in the bottom of the second and that would be all the Lady Musketeers would need to win the game 2-1. The Lady Dragons are now 10-2 on the season.


Dragons Run Rule Pioneers


On Friday, April 11 the Silver Creek Dragons baseball team played against the Pioneers of Providence. The game was a very competitive game until the fourth inning, and that is when the Dragons started to fly. The Dragons scored four in the inning and eight more runs in the top of the fifth. The Dragons won the game 12-1 after five innings to make them 2-1 on the season.


Dragons Win in Extras

Fans were treated to a really good game at Silver Creek on Saturday, April 12 as the Dragons hosted the Panthers of Bloomington South. The Dragons started off the game scoring one run n the bottom of the first and one in the bottom of the third. However, the Panthers would tie it up after scoring one run in the fourth and one in the fifth. Neither team could get anything going after that as both teams put up zeros for the next four innings.

The Dragons would finally end the game in the bottom of the tenth inning and won 3-2. The Dragons are now 3-1 on the season.
