Charlestown dog lovers have a safe and modern place to let their pets play thanks to the Clark “Doc” Werner Dog Park, located on the west side of Spring Street, directly across from the Greenway Park basketball courts.

The park boasts two separate play areas — one designated for large dogs and the other for small dogs — and is fully fenced with a state-of-the-art electronic security gate. Designed with both pets and people in mind, the space also includes play and exercise equipment for dogs, as well as walking trails and green space for owners and the general public to enjoy. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk.

To ensure the safety of all users, dogs must be registered prior to entry. Owners must provide up-to-date proof of vaccinations for each pet. Upon completing registration, owners will receive a key fob that grants them access to the gated park. Only registered dogs are allowed inside, and each pet must remain in the area appropriate to their size. Dog owners are fully responsible for their pets' behavior while in the park and are expected to prevent any aggressive interactions. Entry is at the owner’s own risk.

To register, download and complete the registration form found at Charlestownparks.com and submit it to Charlestown City Hall (2nd floor) between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Forms can also be submitted via email to Parks@CityofCharlestown.com.
