Campbellsburg Country Festival Baking Contest

Campbellsburg Country Festival is having a baking contest on Saturday, September 21 sponsored by Campbellsburg Hardware. Contestants may enter made-from-scratch cakes, fruit pies, rolled or drop cookies between 10 and 11:30 a.m. at the Campbellsburg Community Building. The auction will take place at the shelter house at 3 p.m.

The rules for the baking contest are as follows:

1. Contestants should enter a whole cake, pie, or baker's dozen (13) cookies.

2. All entries must be presented in disposable containers, or if not, they will not be returned, and entries should be covered with clear plastic wrap.

3. Entries must not require refrigeration.

4. Filling, frosting, glazing, pie filling, and meringue; whether cooked or uncooked are not permitted to contain cream cheese, whipped cream, unpasteurized milk, or raw eggs/egg whites (pasteurized eggs or eggs cooked to 160 degrees may be used).

5. Recipes must list which ingredients were used in each part of the entry (including pie crust and frosting) and are to be printed on an 8 ½”X11” sheet of paper.

6. Contestants' names are NOT to be on the entry nor the recipe.

7. Each contestant may enter only one item in each category but are welcome to to enter all categories.

8. No recipe, container, or entry will be returned.

9. Failure to comply with the above rules will result in points being deducted for each violation.

10. Campbellsburg Hardware is sponsoring the event. The first-place winner in each category will receive a $50 cash prize. Second place winner will receive a $25 cash prize. Each third-place winner will receive a $10 cash prize.
