Downtown Scottsburg was alive with music, food, and community spirit on Saturday night, July 26, as the Summer on the Square concert series welcomed a high-energy double feature—local Jackson Snelling and longtime crowd-pleasers The Rumors.

A warm summer breeze carried the sounds of country, classic rock, and feel-good anthems through the Square as families, friends, and music lovers of all ages gathered with lawn chairs. The evening kicked off with Jackson Snelling, a talented singer-songwriter from Austin, whose heartfelt lyrics and smooth vocals set the tone for an unforgettable night of country music.
Then came The Rumors, who lit up the stage with decades-spanning hits and dynamic performances. With powerful vocals, tight instrumentation, and visible chemistry among bandmates, The Rumors had the crowd on their feet and dancing in the streets. From classic covers to high-octane originals, their set list delivered something for everyone.
The festive atmosphere was rounded out with delicious local food from 752 Cafe and the We Care food booth.
If you missed it, don’t worry—the music returns next month! Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 16, when The Skinny takes the stage for the next installment of the Scottsburg Summer on the Square series. Bring your lawn chairs, appetite, and dancing shoes—because the fun is far from over.
