The Charlestown Little League kicked off their season earlier this spring. If you haven't had a chance to catch a game or cheer on some of the youth in the community, you won't want to miss the fun coming up on Saturday, May 10.

The little league will be having Booster Day festivities throughout the day starting with a parade followed by t-ball games, wiffle ball games, and much more. The day will kick off at 8 a.m., with opening ceremonies to follow at 9 a.m.

This year's parade route will start at Charlestown High School and will proceed down Level Street, turn left on Main street, turn left on Monroe, and end at Steve Hamilton Drive. Players will be dropped off at Steve Hamilton Drive and Floats will return to Charlestown High School.

Following the parade will be the T-ball games, where league organizers hope to have big crowds to show support to the youth. Wiffle ball games will begin directly after the t-ball games.

In addition to the parade and baseball games, there will also be silent auctions, penny wars, face painting, Teddy Bear Mobile, food trucks (Yello Sno, NWSB Ice Cream Truck, BBQ Paradise, Donut NV), the concession stand and more.

Charlestown Little League is also excited to be able to compete in “Stock the Trailer” on Booster day to help support 4-H Clark County. “Stock the Trailer” is a contest where counties compete to collect canned or non-perishable food items that will be weighed at the each county fair. The food that is donated will get donated to local food banks in the county. The county with the most weight in food will get $5,000 for their 4-H program that will go directly to paying for 4-H camps and such for the kids. Attendees of Booster Day are encouraged to bring one or more non-perishable or canned item to help “Stock the Trailer”.

The rain date for Booster Day will be May 17 in the event of weather causing a cancellation of the activities.
